ThreadCave ("the App") lets you save and tag Threads posts via the share function on Android and iOS. We take your privacy seriously. This page explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and how it is stored.

1. What we store

• Post content: the URL, text content, author name, thumbnail, and avatar image of any Threads post you choose to share into the App.
• Tag data: the tags you create, their colors, and which posts they're applied to.
• By default, all of this data is stored only in a local database (SQLite) on your device. We do not upload it to any server we operate.

2. Google Sign-In & Google Drive backup (optional)

The App offers an optional feature to back up your data to your own Google Drive. When you enable it:

• We use Google Sign-In (OAuth) to obtain basic account information (openid, email, profile) solely to identify which Google account you're signed in with.
• We only request the restricted drive.appdata scope. This means the App can only read and write files inside a hidden, app-specific folder in your Google Drive that is not visible to you and cannot access, browse, or modify any other files in your Google Drive.
• The backup file is simply an export of your posts and tags, used only to let you restore your data after a device switch or reinstall. We do not read, analyze, or otherwise use its contents.
• You can sign out of your Google account in the App at any time to disable the backup feature; once signed out, the App no longer accesses your Google Drive.

3. What we don't do

• We do not sell, rent, or share your post content, tag data, or Google account information with third parties for marketing purposes.
• We do not read or access any files in your Google Drive outside the App's dedicated app-data folder.
• We do not automatically collect other posts you browse on Threads outside of the ones you explicitly share into the App.

4. Anonymous website analytics

This website (threadcave.com) uses Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous usage statistics (such as page views, approximate region, and referral source) to understand how the site is used. This data cannot be used to identify a specific individual and is unrelated to the posts/tags stored in the App.

5. Deleting your data

You can delete individual posts or tags in the App at any time, or clear the App's data / uninstall it via your device's system settings to remove all locally stored data. If you enabled Google Drive backup, you can also revoke the App's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page, which also revokes the authorized credential; backup files stored in the Drive app-data folder become inaccessible to the App once access is revoked or the App is uninstalled.
